İzzet Mehmet Pasha Mosque

It is located in Safranbolu district of Karabük. Izzet Mehmet Pasha, who served as grand vizier in 1794-1798 during the reign of Selim III, had a small model of the Nuruosmaniye Mosque in Istanbul built in the town where he was born in 1743, in 1796. The mosque is among the works in which western influences were reflected on Turkish architecture in the 18th century. The İzzet Mehmet Pasha Mosque, which has the tughra of Sultan Selim III on its mihrab, reflects aesthetic elements with its stencil and its globe, as well as its engravings, decorations, the polygonal pen-like minaret body.
