It is known that Akkaya travertines, located within the borders of Iman Village in Eskipazar district of Karabuk province, are an ancient formation. The reason why it is called Akkaya Thermal and Travertine is that the sulfur content coming out of the natural cracks and structural gaps of the rock in the middle of the agricultural lands has created travertine formation in the places where the water with a temperature of 37 degrees flows over the rock over time, and it has formed pools where three or four people can sit.
